Daniel Hall began explosives training privately in 2013 and has continued that training every year since as techniques and tools have changed. The work demands calculation, attention to detail and a clear plan for the site in front of you — and none of that is something you learn once.

Precision Blasting, LLC was established in November 2020. Today it helps homeowners, excavation crews, utilities, contractors, ranchers and land managers deal with boulders, hard rock, concrete, trenches and other stubborn obstacles across seven western states.

We run two Idaho locations — Salmon in the Lemhi Valley, and Hayden in Kootenai County — because those are two very different markets and both of them are hard rock country.

How the work is approached

01 · Look at the site

Start with the rock problem, the surrounding conditions, and what the project needs to do next. We come out. You cannot quote a rock job honestly from a phone call.

02 · Choose the method

High explosive, low explosive and non-explosive options all have a place. The site decides, not the sales pitch. Sometimes the honest answer is that you should stay with a hammer, and we will say so.

03 · Clear the way

Break the obstacle into manageable material so the next crew can keep moving. The measure of the job is not the shot — it is whether your project got unstuck.
